Disneyland’s C.K. Holliday Steam Engine
A few years ago, Disneyland’s C.K. Holliday steam engine underwent an extensive renovation, and when it was finished, the engine shone bright and colorful. Here’s a rare look in the cab as the engine plied the tracks at the Magic Kingdom on its very first day back in service, showing off its brand new paint job, shiny brass fittings, and a refinished cab.
The C.K. Holliday was named after Cyrus Kurtz Holliday, founder of the Atchison & Topeka Railroad, which was later renamed as the Santa Fe Railroad, which was a line running through Marceline. Its been carrying guests around Disneyland since opening day, July 17, 1955.
